random thoughts about random people
it's a monday. and i have continuously been hearing bad news from people i love. my blockmate broke up with her boyfriend. i'm not sad because her guy left her, but because i can feel how sad and depressed she was today. she's always been happy and to know that her too good of a boyfriend left her makes me want to jump up to that guy and give him a good punch. meanwhile, my other close friend excitedly told me about the offer she got from japan. if she takes this scholarship, she'd be leaving by september and then be back after four long years. i don't want her to go. people always leave. and it sucks that you can't do anything about it but whine.

nonetheless, i found a new friend to vent my feelings on. it's kind of weird and at the same time relieving that i can share something to someone without worrying about he or she would react. thanks dude. the things you told me were really comforting and err, enlightening.

when people leave, some come back. but in spite of coming back, sometimes they come back not as the same people who once left you. and we all can do is accept them despite the things they forgot to bring back home.

i hate you rain
monday and tuesday were such blaaaaah. i was so pissed those days that i won't even talk to my roommate or hang around with my blockmates. everything just seemed so wrong then. all depression was sucked by my system that i was left numb and clueless of what move to make. i blame it on the weather. global warming is really starting to worry me. the days starts sunny and annoyingly hot and then before noon, the rain pours until the day ends. and i hate it the fact that it rains. btw, did you know that it has been proven that the weather really affects the mood of an individual? and that during winter season or cold season more people commit suicide? cool huh? anyway, it depresses me to see the weather change from hot to gloomy cold. it feels like all my energy and all my strength all went down the drain along with the rain. and so for two days it rained and for two days i was sad.
BUT BUT, i am no longer sad. because... i saw my high school friends last wednesday and i had a KFC lunch. and oh, i re-downloaded torrent! woooo. more songs and ONE TREE HILL SEASON 5 for me HAHAHA i love this. it's funny how the simplest things can make someone happy. and i suddenly remembered one of usher's songs. "It's the simple things in life we forget." Cilche but so true.

man for others
our InTACT (Introduction to Ateneo Culture and Tradition) exposure trip was a visit to Lualhati ng Maynila, a refuge center for senior citizens who were either abandoned or seen bumming around the streets.
to be honest, i was really scared and hesitant of approaching the lolo's and lola's in the center. i saw an old man with a face towel wrapped around his neck. he looked newly washed and ready to mingle with us. he was walking toward us, and i suspected he'd be trying to start a conversation. i don't why but i had this scary feeling that he'd scold me or spit at me once he approaches us. instinctively, i pretended to busy myself with the program preparation so as to avoid conversing with the old man. the same thing happened to the rest of the senior citizens. i thought they were all looking at us with their piercing eyes as if telling us why we were there, what trouble do we bring. i was not at ease.
the program started and the decided activity was a 3-set bingo. they said old people enjoy bingo with their bingo wings. haha. anyway, so we were tasked to partner up with one or two old people and help them in playing the game. i had no choice but to talk to them and try to be as comfortable as possible. i had two lola's playing with me. although they didn't talk much either, i figured they were as anxious as i was. nonetheless, they enjoyed the game.
the whole activity only lasted for about three hours, but my body felt so tired after those three short hours of playing and trying to connect with my partners. we left the place without even properly saying our goodbyes. they went off immediately after the facilitator said it was time for lunch. meanwhile, we decided not to bother them while they were eating and so we left the center.
i texted my mom after i arrived back in katipunan complaining about how smelly the place was and how bugnutin the old people were. i told her i was already tired. she then replied telling me, "what if i grow old, would you throw me there as well? would you not wash my butt when i no longer can't?" i texted her back "why would i send you there? tssss"
what if i would later on eat my words? what if i would send my parents to home for the aged? were these the same comments the children of these lolo's and lola's when they abandoned their parents? i can never imagine myself ignoring my parents or worse, abandoning them. what kind of child would do that? how can someone be so ungrateful of what his parents have done for him in the past? i am pissed with people who refuse to thank those who did them well, and yet here i am ranting on how disgusting the place smelled and how stubborn the old people were. i don't want to end up leaving my parents behind or being the one who is left behind. although they do not talk about it, i can feel how depressed these old people feel whenever they see strangers coming to them and taking pity on them.
by the end of the day, my InTACT adviser reiterated the irony of helping others. no matter how much we try to help or no matter how much we want to help, we just can't. there are times that we just have to let things go; otherwise, people would think of our good deeds as a way to make them even more shameful.

dammit, why am i such a sucker to those who are english illiterates?! HAHA. but seriously, i let myself be used for no apparent reason. ganun ba ako kabait? and this isn't the first time. blah, i hate myself. will edit tomorrow or the next day. tired, because of someone else's homework.

HAHA. that sounded so weird. howell, what else can i do? it's been done.

ang labo ko
tinatamad pa akong mag aral para sa math. dapat nagsisimula na ako ngayong gabi, ngunit hindeee. pinairal na naman ang aking katamaran kung kaya inuubos ko ang aking oras sa pag iisip ng tamang katumbas ng salitang ingles na ito sa filipino o sa tagalog. buwan na ang binilang mula nang magsulat ako gamit ang wikang ito. sa totoo lang, hindi talaga ako bihasa na gumamit ng wikang filipino sa pagsulat dahil nagmumukhang mababaw ang aking mga pangungusap. o kung hindi mababaw ay tila lupon lamang ng mga hindi magkakahulugan na mga salita. nonetheless, tinatamad rin akong magsulat at mag isip gamit ang wikang ingles.
dammit, i can't do this. i'm baboy-ing filipino in this manner. kill the first paragraph. i am just too sabaw to even write anything sensible. apologies.

it's so much easier to tell things in bullet points noh? wouldn't life be easier if it were bulleted? so that everything is straight to the point already, no more intro's and supporting details to think of. HAHA.

i don't have homework for tonight so i thought of updating my blog. so let me just tell you folks random stuff that has been happening this week.

*i think my mom did a good job in dye-ing my hair brown. good job mother! HAHA
*i'm hating every minute of poetry. fiiiine, so i don't like poetry and all its glitter. i almost always find myself half asleep during class discussion that i end up lost in my prof's lecture.
*i am fat. i swear, the holidays totally brought forth the worst. i feel so dirty with all this excess fat. no more rice next week!

say it like you mean it
you said you like her, love her even. but still you keep on telling me how much you want to move on and give up on her, saying you'd be too stupid if you continue. continue what?
you said girls are difficult to understand. that we are too fickle minded to be even given time to understand. you told me you'd rather waste time answering math rather than trying to decipher girls. what is there to decipher?
you said it's okay for girls to make the first move. you dared me to walk up to a random guy and introduce myself because you thought it wasn't an indecent move to make. you pointed out that guys don't mind if girls court guys. are you even serious? or are you just fishing?
you said i'm scary, that guys are intimidated by my aura. i present a straight, serious and high-maintenance perspective to guys. to guys or to just one guy?
you said i am insensitive, cruel and mean. you told me i won't get a guy because i'm too mean, too frank. you keep on mocking me on reasons why i couldn't have a boyfriend. but then again, who, between the two of us, is more cruel for saying those words?
if all these things you mentioned were true, then how come you're still there? still talking to me. still teasing me for senseless things. still there to prove to me how your empty words can somehow be enough (eew, cheesy).
and yet, you still leave me wondering if it's true or not. because you make those words seem so true, and at the same time, deceiving.
